Porsche has revealed the entry-level, turbo-four-powered Macan SUV, which will make its official debut at the 2016 New York Car Show. In addition to the base Macan, Porsche will likewise preview the 718 Boxster and 911 R.
Under the hood of the base-model Macan has a 2.0-liter turbo-four rated at 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. If this engine sounds familiar, this is the same unit discovered in the 2017 Audi A4 and 2016 Audi A6. The only gearbox readily available is Porsche’s PDK seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that’s standard across the Macan lineup. A turbo-four has been available as an unique order choice for the Macan in Europe since last year.
To differentiate the base model from higher trim levels, the standard Macan comes with matte black window surrounds and brake calipers and stainless-steel dual exhaust ideas. Like the Macan S, the base Macan also has black side blades. Standard devices includes HID headlights, eight-way power pole position, Alcantara seat inserts, a brand-new variation of Porsche Communication management, lane departure caution, and a Piano black inside treatment.
Prices for the new base-model Macan begins at $48,550 which includes destination. As compared to the Macan S, the four-cylinder-powered model is $6,900 less expensive, making it the new entry-level automobile in Porsche’s lineup.
