Two adults and a child lost their lives when a vehicle drifted off Interstate 95 Friday and overturned into a pond, troopers stated.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated the vehicle was southbound on I-95 near mile marker 235 in Oak Hill about 8:30 a.m. when it strucked.
A witness informed troopers the vehicle was not speeding and there was no abrupt movement prior to the crash. The car gradually drifted off the road, down and embankment and into the pond, the witness stated.
The car, which was entirely immersed, has been recuperated by a Volusia County dive team.
During the press conference, Sgt. Kim Montes with the Florida Highway Patrol stated people have a couple of seconds to make decisions on the best ways to endure.
All four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers stated the driver was a 27-year-old woman from Illinois. The kid was a 4-year-old boy, and there were two female travelers, among whom was 67 years, officials stated.
I-95 traffic was not impacted.
