3 people killed after multi-vehicle crash in Bloomington

Three people died after two vehicles crashed with a train on 23 October in Bloomington, Texas.

A 34-year-old identified as Steven Carreon from Port Lavaca was traveling at a high rate of speed in a Dodge pickup truck when he hit the back of a Nissan Altima which was stopped at the train tracks waiting for the train to pass.

51-year-old identified as Perales Reyes was driving the Altima, with 19-year-old Lilian Torres in the passenger seat. Both cars were traveling south on Highway 185 in Bloomington.

After Carreon’s car crashed with that of Reyes and Torres, it propelled them into the moving train.

Reyes and Torres were pronounced dead on the scene.

Carreon was hospitalized in Citizen’s Medical Center and later transferred to San Antonio Medical where he succumbed to his injuries.

Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
