A sandstorm resulted in a 22-vehicle pileup on a highway in Utah that left eight people dead, including four children.
The crashes took place on Interstate 15 near the town of Kanosh.
At least 10 people were admitted to hospitals of which three were in critical condition, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The pileup took place during a period of high winds that caused dust or sandstorm, resulting in decline in visibility.
I-15 remained partially shut down as of Sunday.
Traffic was redirected around the vehicles crash site.
