Acura NSX company announces a new Performance Manufacturing Center

Acura NSX was once famously called as vaporware by Audi, but that perception could well change as the Japanese car maker has finally confirmed that the model will be built at a new $70 (€53.9) million Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio.

Not much detail is available about the plant currently but Acura said that it will offer the perfect blend of associate craftsmanship and technology. The plant will be spread across 184,000 square feet and will employ approximately 100 highly skilled workers who will be selected from Honda’s existing facilities in the state.

The car is scheduled to go into production somewhere in 2015 and so Acura will be starting the selection process and the training of the employees to build the NSX shortly.

The Acura NSX will come fitted with a mid-mounted V6 engine and a new Sport Hybrid Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. The latter system comes with two electric motors that power the front wheels as well as another motor that is integrated into the dual-clutch transmission.
