by SpeedLux

New details have no started to emerge about Alfa Romeo‘s new five year plan.

According to a report from Automotive News, the Giulia will debut in not before than later part of 2015 and will ride on the company’s new rear- / all-wheel drive architecture. We can also expect a flagship sedan that could be based on the same platform. Further the report says that say Alfa Romeo is also considering a large and mid-size coupe. The former model would compete with the BMW 6-Series and could be based on the next-generation Maserati GranTurismo.

There are rumors of company considering three different crossovers. Nothing is official as yet but the entry-level model could be based on the Jeep Junior, while the mid-size model could be based on the Jeep Cherokee or the company’s new rear- / all-wheel drive platform and there could also be a range-topping one based on the Maserati Levante.

Though there were rumors earlier that the company would drop hatchbacks altogether, the same report says that the MiTo will eventually be replaced and the Giulietta is due for a redesign in 2016. Last but not the least, the 4C Spider is expected to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show while the Mazda MX-5 based roadster is due in 2015.
