The all new Mazda show car, latest from HSV Grange, exotic Ferrari and the charmingly beautiful Bugatti

by Alex

Mazda has been using the ‘Nagare’ design language up until now to produce the finest show cars in recent years. Using the same language the super concept car Furai was built in 2008. However, recently there has been a change at the top level in the design department. With this change the design language for designing concept cars has also changed. The newly created language is known as ‘KODO’ or ‘Sour of Motion’. Mazda has designed the first car following the new KODO principles. It is dubbed as the Shinari Concept. At the end of the month, the concept car is expected to make its official debut at Paris Motor Show. The Shniari Concept is like to be an elegant four-door ‘coupe’. Perhaps it may also provide the first glimpse of the RX-8 replacement.

Recently Australia’s HSV have released some details for the car fan community. These are the first details of the Grange, which are HSV’s latest versions of top-of-the-range model. The Grange coalesces the very powerful LS3 powerplant for the sport car. The LS3 power engine is capable of producing well over 430 bhp. The sports vehicle is loaded with several advanced features including ‘Side Blind Zone Alert’. The buyers would have the choice of opting between petrol or LPG fuels. Later this month the big four-door power machine will be available with car dealer for sale.

Last month at Pebble Beach one of the exuberant cars lined up was none other than the unique Ferrari 410 Super America Ghia Coupe. Expert and automotive informers believe that it was the last Ferrari ever bodied by Ghia. It had taken close to a year to complete. The Ferrari 410, which is powered by a powerful engine churning out over 340 bhp of power sports a look and feel which was a typical feature of Ghia’s mid-1950s show cars. The Ferrari 410 would have a very aerodynamic shape along with big fins on the tail. What makes the entire story quite interesting is the fact that the one-off Ferrari has appeared in public for the first time at least over twenty years.

The Bugatti Type 50 on the field showed up a very unostentatious design if you examine and note its similarities or differences with the lavish Ferrari. Jean Bugatti was responsible for the big Bugatti’s fine lines, whereas the body of the vehicle was built by the factory. The Bugatti Type 50 is finished in a two-tone grey and black. In fact the Type 50 Roadster was found to be one of the most elegant cars.
