Due to significant market demand, Aston Martin recently announced that they will be bringing their most powerful sports car in history, the V12 Vantage, to North America and South America before the end of 2010.
The V12 Vantage was based on the V8 Varage. The V12 though is fitted with a 6.0L engine that can bring out 510 bhp and peak torque of 420 pound feet. The V12 Vantage can zoom from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a matter of 4.2 seconds. Its top speed is pegged at 190 mph or 305 kilometers per hour.
The V12 was first launched in 2009 and has proven its strong appeal for car lovers and the media. It has given the British marque a handful of accolades and praises. And of course, profits.
Aston Martin describes the car as the ultimate embodiment of the performance capability of the Vantage range with their most potent model being combined with their most aggressive powerplant.
Aston Martin anticipated a small demand for the vehicle in the Americas but customers have proven them wrong. The engineers had to study changes or modifications that they must do without sacrificing the design of the V12 Vantage. Half a year later, engineering tweaks have been done to meet the requirements of the state side market.
The car manufacturer also disclosed that they will be introducing a Carbon Black variant of the V12 Vantage which will be exclusive to the North and South American market.
The makeover of the V12 is the Carbon Black with a twist of metallic finish that requires around 50 man hours for real deal hand painting. The side strake of the car will be made from carbon fiber, the rims will be in gloss black, while the grille will be in bright finishing.
The interiors of the car will make use of leather in Obsidian Black highlighted with silver contrast stitches. The interior trim will be in piano black and a premium 700 watt audio system will come as standard.
Aston Martin started to receive orders for the V12 Vantage with deliveries expected to begin during the last quarter of the year.
