The BMW M3 GTS was recently spotted at the Nurburgring. A pair of M3 GTS did some laps at the Green Hell prior to their official launch. Click play and listen to the aural delight the M3 GTS brings.
The M3 GTS is the top M3 variant that is the most track-focused among the members of its line up. The M3 GTS runs on a V8 4.4L that gives out 444bhp or an increase of 29.5 bhp. The power of this speed monster is transferred to the rear wheels via an M-DCT gearbox with 7 speeds.
The M3 GTS is also 419 pounds lighter than the standard version of the M3 coupe. It tips the scale at 3,285 pounds. To trim down the M3 GTS, BMW engineers made use of titanium silencer and lightweight seats. The aerodynamics of the car was also enhanced with the installation of adjustable wing for the rear and air dam in front.
The inside of the car features carbon fiber trim, lightweight bucket seats, 6-point seatbelts, Alcantara inserts, and for safety purposes, a fire extinguisher. The BMW M3 GTS does not meet the standards set by the American EPA. Modifying its features will be very expensive so it might not hit the US shores.
The European market can grab the M3 GTS with a sticker price of around €115,000 as it is expected to hit German dealerships by May. Other countries will have to wait until the summer.
