Bentley is exploring the possibility of a Continental GT-based four-door coupe as per the recent announcement made by them. The same was announced by the CEO of the company, Wolfgang Schreiber.
The possible upcoming car would be made to compete with cars such as Mercedes-Benz CLS and BMW 6-Series GranCoupe. However as per the company, the car is not expected to be rolled out before 2016 and the reason for the same is that the company is currently focusing on an SUV as they believe that this if the current requirement and preference of the customers.
Bentley has plans of increasing the sales to 15,000 units by the year 2018 which is significantly more than around 8,500 cars sold in 2012. The company has lot of hopes from the SUV and they believe that the SUV will play a very important role in achieving the target.
The four-door coupe would come with a price tag of 130,000 GBP (approx. 198,000 USD / 152,000 EUR) and would help to attract new clients. We will have to wait really long for the actual vehicle to come out if the company really goes ahead to make the four-door coupe version and further details will be revealed only after the final decision.
