BMW made its presence felt at the North American International Auto Show with models such as the Z4 and 4-Series Coupe concept, but the actual show stealer was the company’s new M6 GranCoupe.
Looking dynamic and majestic, the model was differentiated by an sleek body kit that included a new front bumper, revised side skirts and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) diffuser. There is also a CFRP roof, a four-tailpipe exhaust system and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The Interior is almost similar to the standard model but is heavily upgraded with Merino leather seats, an M steering wheel and an Alcantara headliner.
Power is provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It is hitched to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission which enables the car to achieve a speed of 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds with the maximum speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (189 mph). The model is not prudent at all as it averages only 9.9 L/100km (28.5 mpg UK / 23.7 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 232 g/km.
As far pricing is concerned it would cost EUR 128,800 including Vat. Sales are set to begin in may this year followed by the US launch in Summer.
