BMW Released A New Campaig: Poucan, Luffalo and Zorse [Video]

I don’t know whose idea was it to make a series of wildlife ads to promote BMW original parts and services, but even even if at a glance does not seem very smart, to be honest it’s a very clever way of conveying a message that would otherwise be quite dull.

This week, the german car maker has started a new ad campaign themed “that’s not natural.” The videos which have been running for 3 days, have clocked up only 3,000-4,000 views each. This is perhaps because they are posted in the Cars & Vehicles category on YouTube. At first sight video content relies more on discovery than search and therefore the thumbnail plays an important part in their viral success. The guys in the ad department put on their biology hats and invented three new creatures: the poucan, a penguin/toucan hybrid, the luffalo, a lion crossed with a cape buffalo, and the zorse. Which is a zebra/horse.

The main idea is pretty clear. The message of this clipsis that putting lesser parts on your BMW is as unnatural as a lion with horns, or a penguin with a multicolored beak. Or a horse that has some zebra stripes.

Below you can watch all the three ads.
