Representing a possible future design direction for the brand, the four-seater and four door Cadillac Ciel Concept was unveiled at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Cadillac Ciel (meaning Sky in French) is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine with twin turbochargers (DOHC, continuously variable valve timing and direct injection), with a total output of 425-hp and a peak torque of 430 lb-ft. The engine is mated to a hybrid transmission with low-speed all-electric drive. Still, the concept is also capable of all-electric drive for short distances being perfect for the traffic commute.
At the inside, the Ciel concept is finished in a number of premium materials, ranging from nickel-plated trim and machined aluminium to hand-tipped leather and Italian Olive wood. The manufacturer says the wood used in the Ciel Concept was painstakingly prepared from the body of a single fallen tree. Here the modern technology teamed with old-world charm continues the unique style.
AS for the exterior, it features a special nickel-coating, and its lines appear to flow seamlessly into the cabin, with the body color rolling over on top of the interior door panels. Also, you can easily see that those headlights are full LED units.
Finally, the luxurious brand, Cadillac managed to blow everyone away with the Ciel concept which somehow is going back to its roots. For more details and photos, click here. Meanwhile you can watch our video and photo gallery below.
