Recently, there are a number of Chinese businessmen that made a huge investment on developing a powerful electric supercar called NextEV. NextEV will be based on Tesla electric supercar. The Tesla Model S p85D can run at a faster speed compared to Lamborghini. NextEV hoped to come up with a faster car that can accelerate from 0-100 km/h within a timeframe of 3 seconds. They hope that NexEV will be able to compete against Tesla electric supercars. The Chinese automobile manufacturer has recruited the former manager of Ford Motor, Martin Leach. They have also recruited other car experts that have worked with major luxury automobile manufacturers before. The investors do not have any knowledge in electric super car. The Chinese government is also supporting the effort by providing subsidy. Some of the Chinese investors that are involved in the project include Alibaba and Xiami Technolgy.

Ricardo Reyes, the spokesperson for Tesla, claimed that Tesla is glad that other automobile manufacturers are using their Model S sedan as a benchmark to develop electric supercar. The development of NextEV means that more and more people are supporting the use of electric car. This will help to reduce the obstacles for electric supercar to enter into the industry. NextEV is a Shanghai based automobile manufacturer that has branches in Europe and United States. NextEV is expected to outperform all the other supercars around the world.
