China vehicle sales increased 1.2 percent in May 2017

Passenger automobile sales in China to retail clients increased 1.2 percent in May from a year previously, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) stated.

Retail sales amounted to 1.8 million vehicles in May, according to information posted on the CPCA website. For the first five months of the year, passenger car sales dropped 0.9 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, whose stats are generally deemed as the criteria for the market, is yet to report wholesale data for May on Monday.
