Daimler AG remains in talks with regional Chinese ride-hailing companies consisting of Didi Chuxing to go over possible cooperation deals, board member Hubertus Troska stated.

“We are speaking to the leading players consisting of Didi about how we might establish something,” Troska, Daimler’s board member with responsibility for Greater China, informed reporters gathered at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show.

Independently, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche stated he views further capacity for expanding production in China by continuing to deal with joint-venture partner BAIC Motor Corp.

“We see no limiting factors concerning continued growth with this partner,” Zetsche stated in reaction to a concern about whether Daimler was exploring further partnerships like competitor Audi.
