David Brown Automotive has recently released the first teaser images of their upcoming sports car.
Based on the Jaguar XKR, the car which is codenamed Project Judi appears to be a modern day remake of the Aston Martin DB5. Despite being quite similar, the company claims that the model will have a completely original exterior and interior design, realized through the highest quality materials and craftsmanship.
Under the hood, power will be provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates an output of 510 HP (375 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque. It will be further mated to a six-speed automatic transmission which will enable the car to achieve the 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) sprint in 4.6 seconds and hit a limited top speed in excess of 155 mph (250 kmph).
Founder David Brown said, “As reliability is vital, we chose to adopt a thoroughly proven and acclaimed chassis that not only delivers dynamic performance but also lends itself to our lightweight aluminum design. Renowned for its performance and handling, the XKR has been extensively developed and refined by one of the world’s greatest car manufacturers, making it an obvious choice on which to base our car.”
