DC Design has unveiled the peculiar open-top Eleron SUV at the recently concluded Auto Expo show in India prior to a 2016 production launch.
The designing of the Eleron is pretty odd since it’s an open-top SUV with a very strange design and we have our doubts if it will get much appreciation from car lovers. The all-wheel drive Eleron is actually based on the Avanti and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an output of 265 hp (197 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque delivered to the ground through a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of dimensions, the model is 5055mm long, 1965mm wide and 1710mm tall, with a 3090mm wheelbase and huge 22-inch alloy wheels. Other highlights include a double wishbone front suspension and an air suspension at the back where there’s also a limited-slip differential.
Tipping the scales at a monstrous 2,500 kg (5,511 lbs), the Eleron will accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 124 mph (200 kmph).
The model is expected to enter production in 2016 and will come with a starting price of Indian rupees 3.5 million.
