Nissan Almera successor spied once more, will be built in UK

by SpeedLux

The Nissan Almera successor has been spied yet again and this time wearing a production body, prior to a confirmed 2014 reveal.

The company has pinned high hopes on the Almera successor as they believe it will be a worthy adversary for what many people consider to be the king in this segment, the Volkswagen Golf. The five-door hatchback will be made in Sunderland, UK and will be sold with an entirely new name which is probably a good move since the Almera and Tiida failed in Europe.

Talking about the styling it is said to be influenced by the Invitation concept and second-gen Qashqai while development of the model has been conducted at Nissan’s Technical Center Europe in Bedfordshire, UK. It will allegedly come with features such as a self-parking system, a full-length panoramic sunroof and a low-cost satellite navigation system.

Talking about interiors, in the previous spy images we have seen modest dashboard and we believe that it was a mockup to hide the true design. Nissan also claims that they will compete with the Golf VII “from BlueMotion to GTI” and they will do it at a more attainable price.
