Launch of the cabriolet version of the 599 GTB Fiorano has been announced by Ferrari for August at the Pebble Beach concourse California. Described as a roadster by Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo, the car would be made available in limited numbers initially. This is in line with the method that their 575 Supreamerica was launched in 2005.
The engine develops an extra 25 HP power which helps in counteracting the extra weight that this car has due to its folding metal roof feature. The name for this car is yet to be decided and Ferrari boss has indicated that it would be a romantic name giving possibilities of names like Italia or Fiorano.
A spider version of the 458 Italia is also expected to be disclosed next year as stated by the Ferrari boss with sales commencing in next few years. There is confirmed news about the successor to the four-seat 612 Scaglietti also.
Pebble Beach show would sure have this new attractive Ferrari on display.
