A new “Tailor Made” personalization program has been offered by Ferrari for those customers who wish a little something else to cheer up their 458 Italia and the 599 GTB.
And it will deffinitely be a cheer. The new program features cashmere-covered seats and gold-colored exterior paint.
It must be mentioned that Ferrari has limited its sales to 7 000 vehicles a year in order to guard its elite appeal, the only way the production volume is to be exceeded being if the waiting list extends beyond 28 months. But the absolute limit is 10 000, the money from this new personalization program going to Fiat, which receives help from Ferrari in cash to offset falling earnings in mass-market cars.
“The exclusivity of the materials and the service level we provide call for a different price,” said Nicola Boari, Ferrari’s head of product marketing. “The customer has a car that is 100 percent unique because it reflects his choices.”
Well after all this, we couldn’t expect these upgrades to be cheap, could we? In addition with the elite appeal, they will add between 20% – 60% to the price of the vehicle.
