After all the torture and the fuss with the pictures of camouflaged prototypes, the loosely disguised concept and even the patent designs of the next 2012 Honda CR-V that have been going on the past few months, we can finally bring the official images of the final production model.
There have been some styling changes over the concept CR-V we saw this summer, like restricted to the matte finish of the plastic cladding on the body, the smaller wheels and the clear graphics on the headlamps and tail lamps.
It is known, from Honda itself that the new SUV will be “more sophisticated and dynamic” than its predecessor while also offering improved interior space and versatility as well as a suit of new technologies.
Unfortunately, information about the engines that will be found on the new CR-V haven’t left Honda yet, but it is believed that the North American model will have a more powerful yet at the same time more fuel efficient version of the current 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine when it will reach U.S. showrooms at the end of November or early December. Europeans should expect a smaller displacement four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines when it arrives in the fall of 2012.
Well, more information must be available at the Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November, when the 2012 Honda CR-V will make its world premiere with the JDM model to debut a couple of weeks later at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
