The Japanese automaker, Toyota, has officially taken the wrap off its upcoming Tacoma vehicle model. The vehicle is slated for debut at the upcoming 2015 NAIAS event, which will kick off in less than one week now.
Taking a close look at the official photos released by the Japanese company, we can clearly see that the upcoming Tacoma from Toyota will feature a 4×4 4-door double cabin body style painted in the blue color for its exterior. So, instead of featuring an all-new look, the vehicle is going to come with a rather revolutionary design language. It is, however, still a mystery as of this moment whether Toyota will be presenting the vehicle model in question as a facelift of the standard variant or if the company will be presenting it as an all-new model instead. Chances are, however, even with the update to its visual styling, there is not going to be any hardware changes at all whatsoever. So far, Toyota only mentions that the vehicle will have a new set of rugged technologies.
In terms of the powertrain, the vehicle is most likely going to bring a V6 engine as it comes with such badge on the rear fascia. Yet, for the lesser models, Toyota is likely offering 4-cylinder engines so that it will be able to compete with the likes of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and the 2015 GMC Canyon.
It is reported that the Japanese automaker is going to officially show off the real thing to the public on January 12, 2015. So, expect the appearance of the vehicle the moment the 2015 NAIAS event welcomes the public.
