First official pictures of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Up until now, the new A-Class has been wrapped in mystery, sketches of it being our best source of knowing what the new Mercedes will look like. The Germans finally gave out some real pictures, just before the start of the Geneva Motor Show, where the new A-Class will be revealed.

The new design is less sporty than the one showed in Shanghai last year, this model being more sensible, just like the new B-Class. The front and rear fascias are dynamic enough, but as said, aren’t quite as much so as the last A-Class. If you look closely you realize the fact that the rear lights look a bit like the ones on BMW’s 1 Series.

The AMG Accessories pack can also be bought as an option, and contains a more aggressive front spoiler, an odd-looking (yet neat) front grille, and a modified rear spoiler.

The interior isn’t all that extravagant, but high-quality materials and state of the art technology are used, inducing a feeling of sports car combined with comfort and luxury.

Mercedes will give us more info in just a few days, when the Geneva event starts. The release date will probably be set sometime this year, and the base price will be somewhere in the area of $26,000.
