Ford India has presented a ‘Black Edition‘ of its compact SUV, the Ford EcoSport. It will be offered in 3 variants, Trend+, Titanium & Titanium+ and has been priced in between Rs. 8.58-9.93 lakhs ($128,084 – $148,238, ex-showroom Delhi).
The automobile will provide 3 versions, a 1.5 TiVCT gas engine along with manual and automatic transmission, a 1.5 TDCi diesel engine and the much promoted 1.0 EcoBoost engine.
“The ‘Black Edition’ accentuates EcoSport’s bold design, providing the compact SUV an even more striking appearance and a significant road presence,” stated Anurag Mehrotra, at Ford India.
The brand-new variant will offer all-black outsides that have a black grille, black-out moulded headlamps, 16-inch black alloy wheels, black mirror covers, and black fog lamp bezel, black roofing rails & roofing system cross bars. It will likewise offer up to six airbags for security and SYNC with AppLink, Ford’s in-car connectivity system that enables drivers to remain connected.
The Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 have been dealing with the heat just recently after Maruti Suzuki released its own Compact SUV, the Vitara Brezza. In April, the Brezza sold about 7,832 systems versus EcoSport’s 3,779 and TUV’s 1,900. This is despite the huge cost cut on the Ford EcoSport.
