Ford will be showcasing a concept previewing the second generation of the S-MAX in the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in Germany.
The first-gen S-MAX was sold in 2006 and so the company felt that the time has come for an all-new model which will be released sometime next year in 2014. This concept gives a glimpse on what to expect from the people-carrier once it will reach the dealerships.
Very much like the new Fusion and facelifted Fiesta, the S-MAX Concept comes with features such as the Aston Martin-ish front grille, along with a steeply raked windscreen, a curved roof line, muscular fenders, large multi-spoke alloy wheels, metallic accents and a roof-mounted spoiler.
In terms of interiors, the cabin has four seats and a fifth center-rear seat which can be folded into the floor to create a roomier interior. If we talk about features, it comes with what Ford calls an “ultra-soft” leather wrap on the instrument panel, along with carbon fiber-like and leather details on the seats. The concept also has a new iteration of the Ford Sync system that can monitor the health of those inside through glucose and heart-rate sensors installed within the seats.
