Ford has recently released pictures of a one-off Mustang that was created for Edsel B. Ford II.
Built for his 16th birthday, the one-off model had a pearlescent white exterior with blue racing stripes, a functional hood scoop and fender-mounted rearview mirrors. The model also came fitted with chrome trim and a bespoke fuel filler cap with the initials EBF II” on it. In the interiors, there was also a bespoke cabin with blue leather and aluminum trim.
According to Edsel Ford, the rumble of the high-performance 289-cubic-inch V8 was always intoxicating for him. He further stated that he only drove it for a few minutes that first day because there was snow on the ground, but as soon as the roads were cleared, he drove it almost every day.
The most unfortunate thing about this one-off car was that it got destroyed in an accident just four years later when a friend borrowed it for some work. That is indeed a sad tragedy and there could be nothing that would have hurt more than losing the birthday gift in such a dreadful manner.
