Simply over a week earlier, the Ford GT won at the 24 Hour of Le Mans race in France.

This remarkable accomplishment came 50 years after the Ford GT40 Mark II, the predecessor to the 2017 GT, took the exact same checkered flag in 1966.

Memorializing both wins, Ford has developed a scandal sheet of its GT supercar named the ’66 Heritage Edition.

If the 2017 GT weren’t uncommon enough, limited to 250 vehicles each year, the ‘66 Heritage Edition will be even rarer still, and only provided for the 2017 model year.

Those who choose the Heritage will have the ability to select either a Shadow Black paint job in either gloss or matte surface. No matter the surface, the hood will be accented with a silver stripe and the carbon fiber parts of the automobile’s structure will be left exposed.

Finishing off the outside, the hood and doors will be plastered with “# 2” hood and door graphics in a Frozen White color. Finally, Ford will bolt up 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels completed in a gold satin clear-coat with black lug nuts.

When it comes to the interior, it’s dressed up with carbon fiber seats with pillowed inserts. The seats, steering wheel, control panel and headliner all function Ebony leather. Mimicking the ’66 race automobile, and completely complementing the leather treatment, gold accents are likewise included throughout the cabin.

If you would like to purchase a 2017 Ford GT, ’66 Heritage Edition or otherwise, you will have to log on to Ford’s website and apply. It is going to cost $450,000.
