The time is passing and we are closer and cloaser to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Being an important event in auto world, automakers are taking it very seriously and beginning to tease us with the wares they’ll have on display in Germany.
Ford Motor Company announced today that is planning four global product reveals at September’s Frankfurt show, including a major new design concept and details of the next Focus performance car.
Ford invited us onto Ford’s stand for an eve-of-show preview of the Blue Oval’s news, delivered by European chairman and CEO Stephen Odell, who will be joined by J Mays, design group vice president and chief creative officer, and Derrick Kuzak, global product development group vice president.
The 2011 reveals will all take place on an expanded 3,200 sq. m stand, which is Ford’s largest ever at Frankfurt. Also, outside will be a 2,800 sq. m track where visitors can take part in Ford’s ‘Drive Experience’, testing out innovations such as Active City Stop and Active Park Assist.
“Ford plans to make a strong statement at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with several very exciting global product reveals and our significantly expanded show stand,” said Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe. “We’re excited to be showing customers our best-ever vehicle line-up and a special glimpse of the future.”
The American company was stingy on details, so we don’t know what we can expect from the design concept and the performance Focus. It could be the rumored coupe model, and there’s always a chance that we’ll learn more specs on the forthcoming Focus ST, though there’s really no telling at this juncture, so we must wait until September.
