Four people were killed after a driver traveling the wrong way struck a vehicle carrying three people on I-95 in Connecticut on Sonday.
The highway was shut for hours after the 2:30 a.m. crash near Guilford and the drivers diverted near exit 60 from 3 a.m. until about 9 a.m.
A Nissan Altima driven by a 22-year-old identified as Luis Garduno-Cidals, of Westbrook, was heading northbound and a Chevrolet Coronado, going southbound in the same lane. Johnny Bookhardt, 76, was the driver of the Chevrolet and had two passengers, a 68-year-old identified as Caroline Bookhardt and a 66-year-old Patricia Greene-Kessler, behind the driver on the left side of the car.
The Nissan crashed head-on into the Chevrolet, and all four were killed.
The crash is being investigated by Connecticut state police.
