Geely has started aggressively campaigning its model lineup in the US by announcing the arrival of the Starshine 7, a Galaxy sub-brand plug-in hybrid variant, which fills the gap between the current 6 and 8 variants.
Announced at CES 2026, this plan hinges on premium exports like Zeekr and Lynk & Co, yet the Starshine 7’s “premium-affordable” ethos suggests it could eventually find a niche among traditional Western sedans.
Arriving as the main competitor against Cadillac`s new CT5, the Geely Galaxy Starshine 7 is a sizeable contender, measuring 196 inches in length.

Also, from a visual standpoint, the car is defined by a prominent chrome-plated grille and a continuous LED light element that spans the rear.
As for performance under the hood, the Starshine 7 is Geely’s next-generation Leishen plug-in hybrid system. It comprises a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine and a high-performance electric motor. The engine alone provides 110 horsepower and completes the combined output of 418 horsepower and 536 Nm of torque, or 387 lb-ft of torque.

The power is sent to a four-wheel-drive system that allows the model to reach 60 mph in an impressive 5.4 seconds. The chassis also features a specialized five-link rear suspension to handle the added weight of its LFP battery packs. Buyers can choose between a 19.0 kWh or a larger 28.3 kWh unit, with the latter reportedly offering up to 102 miles (165 km) of electric-only travel—though real-world range will naturally fluctuate based on which pack is installed.
Inside, the Starshine 7 is dominated by a floating touchscreen and a unique, orb-like digital interface that manages the car’s primary functions. The technology suite is anchored by the G-Pilot H3 ADAS, which utilizes 11 cameras and 3-millimeter wave radars to facilitate “Navigate on Autopilot” (NOA) in both city and highway environments. It even includes a self-parking feature.

Geely’s recent sales performance shows some volatility, with the Galaxy line moving 73,125 units in February—a minor decrease of roughly 3,955 cars compared to the same month last year.
Information about the pricing still remains undisclosed. In the US, its smaller sibling, the Galaxy 6, comes with a starting price of 74,800 yuan, which is approximately $10,861. That makes it extremely cheap, yet competitive against its direct competitor from Nissan`s new Versa, which can be had for $17,390.
If Geely can maintain this value proposition while navigating future tariffs, the Starshine 7 might be more than just a domestic success.
