Peugeot is not usually associated with luxury and performance. In March at the Geneva Motor Show this French automaker is finally showing our kind of car. The SR1 Concept features Peugeot’s HYbrid4 technology – front wheels are powered by 1.6-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine and on the rear is a 95 horsepower electric motor.
Total combined output is 313 horsepower and estimated fuel mileage is an impressive 48 mpg with CO2 emissions just 119 grams per kilometer.
The SR1 Concept seats three people, two on the front and one behind the front seats.
Other highlights are a removable plastic roof panel, four wheel steering, futuristic crystal tubes that display fuel consumption and range.
At the moment it is just a concept, showing Peugeot’s new design language, but we would not be surprised if Peugeot is entering a more premium market segment and introduces a production version of the SR1 concept in the near future.
