There is an interesting bit of news coming from Infiniti, the luxury division under the Japanese automaker, Nissan. The company has officially disclosed its plan of introducing the next generation QX50 model. According to the company, the car will be having its world premiere the moment the 2015 New York Auto Show kicks off.
Unfortunately, the Japanese automaker does not seem to be keen enough to release official images of the upcoming model. Instead, it simply mentions that the car will be treated with redesigned side skirts, revised front and rear bumpers and also a ride stance that is slightly higher when compared to that of the outgoing model. This new crossover from Japan will reportedly have its wheels redesigned as well. In addition, the car will even come with an extended wheelbase, which makes the new model longer by three inches when compared to its predecessor.
Performance-wise, so far, there is no official information available just yet. The present generation model, however, boasts 325 bhp of power output and 361 Nm of torque in total. The power and torque come from a 3.7L V6 engine that is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. In addition, buyers of the model can even purchase the optionally available all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain.
Speaking of the Infiniti brand by Nissan, it turns out that the company is not only prepping the QX50. Instead, it is reported to be prepping its QX30 model as well. The latter is scheduled to make its official debut in the North America on one of the stages in the 2015 New York Auto Show event. Report has it, the Infiniti QX30 will eventually go on sale in the early months of 2016.
