Some media out there have been reporting that the luxury US automaker, Cadillac, is planning on introducing a new vehicle model no later than fall this year itself. According to reports, the US automaker is currently working on a crossover model and that this model is going to bear the XT5 moniker when it is finally launched onto the market. The car may as well receive its world premiere at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show event.
Speaking of the upcoming XT5 from Cadillac, the model is most likely to take the place of the company’s SRX model. However, the new model will sport a more upscale design, giving it a more cohesive look when compared to its predecessor.
Unfortunately, when asked about this alleged upcoming XT5 model, Cadillac does not really want to say much, at least not at the moment. Nonetheless, some people have managed to snatch a number of images of the vehicle in question only recently. Judging by those spy images of the vehicle, the upcoming American crossover will most likely bear the company’s typical vertically designed headlamps, a prominently looking front grille and also a rakish tailgate at the rear end of the car. Other notable components include a roofline that slopes gently, dual sporty exhaust pipes and a beltline with an upward sweeping design.
As for the performance that customers can expect from the car, referring to the report published by the Autoguide, quoting The Detroit News, it will have a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 265 bhp of power. Yet, for a more powerful option, customers can also opt for a 3.6L V6 naturally aspirated engine that offers no less than 335 bhp of power in total.
