Hyundai Genesis Coupe previewed for Pikes Peak

Hyundai has recently released quite a few videos that give preview of the Genesis Coupe that will compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Set to enter the Unlimited Class, the Genesis Coupe is being termed as the fastest, more powerful Hyundai racer ever.

Not much detail is available about the car, but Rhys Millen says it will have a dramatically lowered composite body with exaggerated lines and a massive rear wing. It will ride on a Crawford Race Cars chassis and use titanium and carbon fiber components to ensure it is lighter by 1,000 lbs (453 kg) as compared to last year’s Genesis Coupe.

The model will come fitted with a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine that shares 90% of its components will the production mill. While the standard engine only generates 348 hp (259 kW) and 295 lb-ft (399 Nm) of torque, Millen says the race-prep unit will be able to generate more than 900 hp (671 kW) and 800 lb-ft (1083 Nm) of torque.
