Mercedes-Benz has increased its sales by 19% in November 2010; that means that it sold 105,200 units just in November. This is the largest number of car that Mercedes has ever sold in this month, and it is the 13th month in a row that shows a double digit growth. Joachim Schmidt, Mercedes sales chief is very confident in what has remained of this year. The company hopes to have a sales growth of 10% in 2010. The sales chief also said that the growth was helped by the expansion of the markets in China and Germany.
In China alone, the German car-maker sold 130,100 units for the January-November period, beating its target of 120,000 vehicles. Despite a 27% drop in Smart ForTwo sales in November, Daimler expects to reach its 2010 target of about 100,000 units. Until now, the company has sold 89,900 vehicles.
Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars said: “We can look back on an extremely successful year so far. Mercedes-Benz continues to grow in all regions and our products are coveted worldwide. The positive development continued last month. We posted the best November sales figure in our company’s history and increased sales at a double-digit rate for the 13th month in a row. The German market played an important role in driving our growth, with sales increasing by more than one fifth. We continue to be confident for the remaining weeks of the year and will fulfill our forecast to grow by at least ten percent with Mercedes-Benz passenger cars this year.”
