The IPL G Cabrio Concept may soon be seen competing with the Audi’s S, BMW’s M and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG models in Europe. However, it would be determined to a great extent by how the crowd at the Paris Auto Show reacts and responds to the concept car. Infiniti has recently unveiled its new IPL G Coupe in the US in August. It is the first production model in its IPL range. The IPL G Coupe would be available for sale in the US from December this year. IPL stands for Infiniti Performance Line.

A 3.7-liter V-6 engine powers the IPL G Cabrio Concept and delivers over 338 hp of peak power. This comes as a rise of over 18 HP in comparison to the standard G Cabrio. A high-flow dual exhaust system is responsible for producing this additional power in the new IPL G Cabrio that has also led to the car reach a higher top speed mark of 270kph. The cars can sprint in a skimpy six seconds from a zero kph to 100kph.

As for its lugging power, the V6 powerplant delivers a total of 374 Nm of torque which again is a rise of 14 Nm from original 360 Nm delivered by the same engine but without the dual exhaust system. The sports suspension of the IPL G Cabrio, includes a recalibrated damper and springs. These dampers and springs provide over 10 percent stiffer support than those on the regular G Cabrio.

About its exteriors looks, the car comes with sleek and elegant features. The exterior also features strong concept consisting of sculptured side sill extensions and bigger wheels emphasizing its stance. Following is the verbatim of a recent press release from IPL.

“Nothing in the IPL philosophy calls for a let-up in the provision of features as standard. The IPL G Cabrio Concept maintains this Infiniti advantage by being superbly well equipped with an array of innovative comfort, convenience and safety technologies – just like the GT Premium model on which it is based and which has been available as part of the G Line in Infiniti Centers across Europe for more than a year.”
