Tests performed on Euro-5 diesel lorries offered in Italy have found no defeat gadgets, Italy’s transport ministry stated on Thursday after releasing a last report on the investigation.
The probe, carried out about 18 automobiles from numerous producers, was released in the wake of the Volkswagen emissions scandal.
“Based upon the tests, no defeat devices not permitted under emissions policies in force in the European Union were discovered,” the ministry said in a statement.
The final report follows an initial one provided to a European parliamentary committee in October however never officially released, showing that Fiat Chrysler automobiles were at first permitted to skip essential tests during the investigation.
Those missed out on tests were later on included in the last report.
The tests did not include the 7 Volkswagen automobiles targeted by a judicial probe introduced by prosecutors in Italy and which remains under way.
