For all these years, those cars with the Jaguar emblem on them have always been manufactured by the British automaker in its factory in the UK. Yet, things will be different this time. It is now official that the luxury automotive brand from the UK will produce its upcoming Jaguar XE in China. This will be the company’s first vehicle model to be manufactured completely outside its UK factory. This model will follow the Range Rover Evoque, which the company has also been manufacturing in China ever since October 2014.
As reported by the AutoNews Europe, quoting Ken Forbes, Jaguar will be manufacturing its XE in China, along with other models like the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque. For your information, Ken Forbes is the director for the luxury UK automaker’s global fleet. So far, however, there has yet to be any information in regards to when the company will start its China-based production for the aforementioned vehicle lineups. As for the Jaguar XE, it first bowed to the Chinese public during the last Guangzhou Auto Show event that took place at Guangzhou, China, in November 2014. It seems that such a move is meant to help the company achieve its ambitious expansion plans, including launching significantly redesigned vehicle lineups and no less than three completely new lineups in the year 2016.
As for the European markets, sales of the Jaguar XE will start in May 2015. Following the official start of the sales of the XE, the UK automaker will also launch the latest variant of the
XF sedan and even a mid-size crossover vehicle, both of which may well make their first appearance come 2016. These models will count on the company’s entirely new aluminum platform. According to market analysts, the three Jaguar models mentioned just now will help the company increase its vehicle sales to 200,000 units when the year 2016 finally arrives.
