Jaguar XJ L Becomes A Four Door Convertible Thanks To Newport Convertible Engineering

Four-door convertibles were and are still appreciated by many people, being the main target for many tuning companies.

Well this time is a bit different because this car was not originally a convertible. We’re talink about Jaguar’s very lovable XJ L a car that recently was subjected to a “surgery”. How? Newport Engineering decided to take an all-new Jaguar XJ and cut its head off and transform it into a four door convertible.

Being based specifically on the long-wheelbase XJ L, this car seems a truly work of art. The tuning company, Newport Engineering said they tackled their hardest job yet and fitted the XJ with folding origami.

As a reminder, the 2011 Jaguar XJ L is fitted with a supercharged 5-liter, 510-horsepower V-8 tag and a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifts. This car achieves 60 miles per hour in a hot 4.7 seconds. For the more technical minded, think 510 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 461 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm with a top speed of 155 mph.

So far, there’s no word on availability, number of convertible Jaguar XJ L cars they plan to make or whatever other equipment Newport Engineering fits to this car.

Finally, the Newport Engineering Jaguar XJ L Convertible costs nearly $130.000.
