Keating Supercars has recently unveiled their new Bolt prototype in the United Kingdom.

The prototype which is designed to preview an upcoming production model, comes with a slightly generic design with traditional super car styling cues. But still the production model is slated to have a lighter carbon/Kevlar body and an aluminum space frame. This will enable the Bolt to supposedly have a curb weight of 990-1200 kg (2182-2645 lbs).

Talking about power, motivation will be provided by a GM-sourced powerful 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine that generates an output of approx. 640 hp (477 kW). The company further claims that there will be an 800 hp (596 kW) variant as well that will be able to achieve the 0-60 mph sprint in just 2 seconds. That’s not all, Keating even plans to set a world speed record for a production car by using a twin-turbo variant that can exceed the speed of 340 mph (547 kmph).

However there are certain reports which have criticized the prototype for some of its evident defects. For instance one of the reports state that the Bolt prototype has been finished to a very poor standard and even simple elements such as the paint job and these haven’t been attended to in any great detail.
