The subsidiary of the Japanese automotive marquee Toyota, Lexus, that is in charge of luxury vehicle lineups has now officially unveiled the company’s next generation RX 350 model. This vehicle has been revealed during its world premiere at the 2015 New York Auto Show. As Lexus puts it, the luxury mid-size SUV from Japan will have a ‘bold exciting new look’. Yet, what else does it have to offer?
To begin with, it comes with attractively designed LED headlamps flanking its signature spindle front grille. Coming up next, customers can also expect to benefit from LED daytime running lights and even LED fog lamps. The car also looks sleek and sporty, thanks to the sloping design for the roof. The visual appeal of the car is enhanced even further with a set of third side windows that feature a rather unique design. Going further to the rear fascia of the car, it looks sharp and it has a pair of L-shaped wraparound style LED taillights. Then, the dual exhaust pipes give the car an even more luxurious impression.
On the interior, buyers will receive a massive infotainment system with a 12.3-inch display, electrically retractable panorama sunroof, built-in entertainment system for the rear passengers with twin 11.6-inch display panels, electrically folding seats on the second row, heated rear seats and also a color head-up display system. The latter, however, will have to be purchased at an extra cost.
Under the hood, the car benefits from a 3.5L V6 engine. Thanks to this engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, owners of the vehicle will get to enjoy a total power output of 300 bhp. It is said that a hybrid variant, bearing the RX 450h moniker, will be available as well. The latter will have a 3.5L V6 engine combined with an electric motor to generate 300 bhp as well.
The 2016 Lexus RX 350 – and 450h – will expectedly be available starting from somewhere around the end of 2015.
