The British automaker, Lotus, is currently celebrating its twentieth anniversary. For the sake of that, the company is trying to offer the global consumers with a special anniversary edition Elise. Needless to say, as a special edition build, this one comes with a host of upgrades that are not quite likely to be found on its standard counterpart at all.
For your information, Lotus first introduced the Elise model back in the Frankfurt Motor Show of September 1995. Now, after some two decades, the company is introducing a special anniversary edition which is set to take the place of the company’s Elise S Club Racer. This special anniversary edition will reportedly come with a supercharged 1.8L engine that delivers 217 bhp and 250 Nm of power and torque, respectively. Thanks to this very engine, the car will have no problems at all whatsoever going from a stationary position to the speed of 100 km/h within only 4.6 seconds. Its top speed is reported to lie at the mark of 237 km/h. Also, thanks to the use of lightweight material for its body construction, the car is able to save fuel by consuming only 5.9 liters of fuel for every one hundred kilometers traveled.
The 20th anniversary edition Lotus Elise will be available in four color choices, which are, silver, yellow, green and blue. No matter which of these paint hues buyers choose, they will also receive a matte black diffuser at the rear end of the car, rear transom, roll hoop and wing mirrors. The car will also be quite distinctive in look when compared to the standard variant Lotus Elise, thanks to forged alloy wheels painted in black and also the special cabin decals visible on the dashboard and seats of the vehicle. In addition, customers can also opt for a hardtop for which they will have to pay GBP 1,200.
The special 20th anniversary edition Lotus Elise has currently gone on sale with a price tag of GBP39,900.
