Scion Teases the 2016 iM and iA

by SpeedLux

The automaker Scion has taken the liberty of sending out no less than two teaser images just recently. Judging by how the cars look in the official teaser images, it is more than likely that the automaker is actually teasing the public with its upcoming iA sedan and iM hatchback models.

To begin with, the iA sedan, according to the most recent reports, will make use of the chassis that is also used by the Mazda2 sedan. However, when it eventually comes into production, the sedan may simply be a Toyota Corolla, rebadged. Yet, regardless of whether the car will be a rebadged Corolla or something that derives from the Mazda2, Scion points out that the car will aim at relatively young audience that highly values practicality yet at the same time demands outstanding driving dynamics as well as engaging visual styling.

On the other hand, the iM hatchback from the company is a hatchback that comes with five doors. If you can still recall, the concept version of the vehicle was launched sometime back in November last year. It was launched during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Basically, the car is just a Toyota Auris that is treated with a new badging. Yet, the car now sports a visual design that will better suit the young people out there. Scion points out that the car will mate a fun driving experience and a sporty visual design to maximum level of versatility.

As you can see, both these new vehicle models from Scion comes with the i letter for their monikers. This i represents ‘individual, intriguing and also easy on customers’ income’. For the iA sedan, the A represents an aggressive styling and accommodating trunk. Yet, as for the iM hatchback, the M represents multi-faceted uses as well as modern visual styling.

It is believed that both the 2016 Scion iA sedan and iM hatchback are going to make their official world debut come March 31, 2015. That is just one day ahead of this year’s New York Auto Show event.
