Some of the most impressive cars and ones that goes to captivate the desire of most people for sure find a place in the Paris Auto Show that is held on an annual basis. Lotus it appears would be making their entry into this year’s show with the entire range of concepts that they have and were planning to launch in 2012.
The new Esprit model from Lotus is to be the new entry is the news that’s making the rounds. More recent reports though have added that there would be three new cars making it to the Paris show. They would be the Espirit, a new roadster and a new front engined grand touring car. The Chapman would be the light and quick sports car genre; the Esprit and new GT are expected to showcase a brand new strategy in car making.
The company has had a past which earned it the name of “Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious” as the full form of the name Lotus. The making of the Elise and Exige models have however helped dust these bad days under the carpet. The company has set afoot even more ambitious plans of moving away from its light and performance oriented car making to making cars that are more luxurious and is feature rich.
Lotus has probably noted that the number of buyers in the luxury market far exceeds the number of people who look for performance in a car. Luxury cars also cost more as the buyers have more cash to pay for these cars. The Lotus has set itself a target to finally touch a sales figure of 7,000 units per year from its current sales figure of 2000 to 2500 cars per year.
There is a mixed feeling that prevails currently until the Paris show takes place on what is going to be the outcome of the Lotus entrant into the show.
