During the weekend, firestorms of protesters emerged in airports throughout the United States, following President Donald Trump’s executive order to stop immigration from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
The responses were quick from opponents, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which was successful in a partial stop on the migration restriction.
The ACLU has got a number of donations since the happenings, however General Motors backed Lyft chimed in, too.
According to a report, Lyft vowed a $1 million donation to the ACLU in reaction to the temporary immigration ban. It comes at the same time when rival Uber came under fire for stopping surge prices at New York City’s JFK airport, as numerous saw it as a way to undermine the demonstration.
