A man died after he lost control of his car and collided with a pole in Seal Beach, California on Saturday morning, December 19.
Seal Beach police were called right before 4:30 a.m. to Pacific Coast Highway and Anderson Street, near the famed Sunset Beach Water Tower, and discovered the driver unresponsive in the car, Sgt. Nick Nicholas said.
Investigators found that the man was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on PCH prior to losing control, Nicholas said. The vehicle made an impact with a pole north of the intersection and went through it before coming to a stop. No one else was inside the car and no other automobiles were involved in the crash.
Further details about the driver were not immediately available. It unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
