Mazda Motor’s joint venture with FAW Group has started recalling 206,570 Mazda 6 cars due to a potential issue with the vehicle’s brake-assist system in cold weather, a Mazda representative stated on Tuesday.

A brake-assist system in the affected midsize sedans might malfunction under very cold weather, he stated.

The affected cars were produced in China by the FAW-Mazda joint venture during November 2012 to March 2016.

The company will replace the affected part, the spokesperson said.

The issue has caused 11 known “small” mishaps, he said, and that no injuries or deaths were reported.
