The MX-5/Miata model which is the latest generation car from Mazda with a 2.0 liter engine would be getting a boost in performance thanks to the conversion package developed by BBR and Cosworth Engineering as a joint project. They intend to develop a supercharged version of this model. The project would focus around a fourth-generation Eaton MP62 supercharger mated to a Cosworth designed cast integral inlet manifold, which is said to be optimized for both performance and fuel economy.

The original MX5 has a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers 158 hp. With the supercharger kit along with the inlet manifold from Cosworth the power developed goes all the way up to 235 bhp at 7130 rpm and a 190 lb ft torque which comes about at 5260 rpm. That gives a jump of about 77 bhp and 51 lb ft form the original specifications of the car.

Cost of the kit as per company sources would be £4,995 (approx. US$7,750) in Britain. There would be also a DIY kit from the company soon. The kit would contain all instructions and parts required to set up the modification.
