Change in plans at Lotus, to make bigger cars now

by Alex

The Paris Motor Show held last month was a special event for Lotus fans and followers as the company unveiled five concept models at the event. Not just the number in variety that appealed to the Lotus fans, it was also the fact that the cars were such that one could relate with them easily. Lotus cars since the very beginning have followed the design laid down by their founder father Sir Colin Chapman. It was his idea to make a car that was simple as well as lightweight. The cars on display at the Paris Motor Show however threw this age old adage of Lotus straight off the window. Instead there were on show some glamorously designed and appealing cars.

Lotus has indicated a paradigm shift in their car building aesthetics which could also herald bad times for them. Yet they have gone ahead with the risk and the reasons for doing so are yet to be seen.
